Success of the Drinks and Information Evening
First ever Drinks and Information night Event
Wendy our Administration Manager, suggested the idea of raising awareness of our Mission and the need for the services that we offer. As the first step towards this, we organised our 1st Drinks & Information Evening on Tuesday, 23rd July, specifically aimed towards our local community in Millers Point.
We had a total of 40 people attend, including seafarers, staff and members of our Board of Directors. This info evening had aroused the interest of many and created opportunities for our friends and neighbours to interact with seafarers, learn about the life of a seafarer and gain an understanding of the work of The Mission to Seafarers, what we do and why.
Thank you, to all those who attended and assisted and special thanks to Silvia and Lido from Ventuno Pizzeria Restaurant, Millers Point for donating their special gourmet pizzas for the evening and to The Captain Cook Hotel on Kent Street who advertised it on their website.
This inaugural Information & Drinks night was an enormous success, for those who missed out, we hope to organise another Info evening some time towards the last quarter of this year.
